My name is Lisa Becker, BS, RN, CNOR, RNFA. I am a Peri-op Nurse Educator for a community hospital on the North Shore of Long Island.
On this website I hope to cover some important aspects of Peri-op nursing.
My goal is to help you with continuing education in the operating room.
My personal educational philosophy is truly aligned with a humanistic framework, as I do believe in the uniqueness and individuality of each person. My beliefs are grounded in a holistic process that values each individual. The healthcare environment today is chaotic, rapidly changing, plagued with fiscal crises and social health-related problems. Our profession can no longer teach "the way it's always been done." We need to be responsive to these changes and focus our energies at educating professionals who can balance ethical, technical and compassionate care. Our profession is in need of those who have the ability to communicate effectively, think independently, and act with enlightenment.
My Mission is to provide education to nurses in the operating room, always being mindful of compassion, patient safety and excellence.
